The stretch marks? They’re here.
Just the beginning hints of them, but there’s no denying their arrival.
I was hoping to simply reuse the stretch marks I had acquired during puberty, but my body seems to feel the need to add to my collection.
The scary thing is that I’ve still got 9.5 weeks to go and my belly is going to get a LOT bigger yet.
Hello, one-piece bathing suits.
Good-bye, low rise jeans.
I think I’m going to dye my hair a shade of mousy brown, get a stylin’ mom hair do and buy some tapered, high-waisted jeans.

You’re still way cool even if you have stretch marks. Don’t go all “Mom” on us, already… :)
Drink lots of water and lube up your belly with a good natural “stretch mark” oil twice a day, maybe you can stop them in their tracks if that’s what you are wanting. Or just give in to the fact that your body will be Mama-fied after birth :) Hooray for Mama’s!
Welcome to motherhood. :)
You’ll be lovely even with stretch marks, so don’t fret.
You make me laugh! With respect to the high-waisted jeans, you’d probably look like half the women in Red Deer and Penticton!
NOOOOOO! Have you been applying your Palmer’s Cocoa butter lotion? Even though it probably doesn’t do a thing, I keep telling myself it’s helping.
It’s so funny cuz it’s true. Almost, most of my stretch marks faded away within the year, and I know a lady who has 5 children and wears bikins and you can’t see any evidence of her stretch marks! I too used the Palmer’s but found it got expensive so I just used Vitamin E body lotion. St. Ives does a great Vitamin E lotion that doesn’t leave you feeling “lubed up”. Oh and don’t forget to slather it on the boobs too! Good luck!!! And the good times are just beginning, lol
Welcome to the underground world of stretch mark infested mommies. Do what Kaili says, lube that belly up. And if that doesn’t work, enjoy the ring of fire as they stretch up past your belly button. The battle wounds of pregnancy!
You’ll be a HOT MAMA regardless of any stretch marks. Once you’re holding Annaliese, it will all be worth it ;)
I just wanted to add that I finally got to sit down and read the April/May issue of FitPregnancy and they have an article in it on how to treat stretch marks, what causes them etc. I’m not sure if you can just read it online or if you’ll want to pick the mag up it’s on sale until May 30th. It’s pretty good.
