…for this belly!
Wowzaz, I’m a tank! According to last week’s ultrasound the baby already weighs in at a whopping 6.5 pounds. And I still have a few weeks to go! Please, pray that she will be dainty and not a
ten- pound mammoth who rips me to shreds.
Today I vacummed behind our bed. Scary, scary things had been residing there. And yes, this was the first time since we moved into this house (nearly three years ago) that I could even be bothered enough to consider vacuuming in the hidden recesses of our bedroom. I just figure that if the baby might be sleeping in a basinnet right next to our bed it might be good for her to be able to breathe some clean, dust bunny-free air.
The things I do for this girl.
I also cleaned out Steve’s office for him and made use of my secretarial skills by filing the mounds of paperwork that had collected on his floor. He was adequately thrilled upon seeing the carpet in his office for the first time this year.
I also baked monster cookies. And they were divine. I am trying to load up the freezer with goodies so that when people come to visit after the baby is here I can pull out piles of treats to give them.
Actually, I’d be surprised if any of the goodies last until my due date.
Shut up. I’ve only got two and half more weeks to go.
My appetite has actually decreased (THANK HEAVENS). Perhaps due to the heat, or the fact that my stomach sac is compressed into a pea-sized pouch that the baby boots all day long. Whatever the case, my weight gain has been nice and slow the past month and for that I am grateful.
It seems like all of my formerly pregnant friends have had the privilege of having their babies early. Kaili‘s baby came a week early, and Trish just got to meet sweet baby Duncan ahead of schedule. I am basically counting on being overdue, then if I am early I will be pleasantly surprised.
Set your sights low; avoid disappointment.

You look absolutely radiant! Not much longer to go…
Well…you have dropped you know… not to get your hopes up or anything.
And can I say that you are a MACHINE! Seriously who thinks of BAKING when it’s like fifty degrees celsius outside!! Those cookies had better be mighty fine.
Nesting, nesting, nesting :)
I agree with Ange — it sounds like there’s some serious nesting going on. That’s a good sign. :)
It’s so funny that we wait so eagerly for the baby to arrive and then a few sleepless nights we start going “can I just put it back in?”. Just kidding. I’m super excited to know there will be a baby brown email waiting for me when I get re-set up in Ontario. I am going to be inspired by your baking at this heat as I hope to do the same thing! Keep taking care of yourself!
You are working so hard to make your house and self baby -ready. Good for you!
I wanted to bake tonight but we have no a/c and had NO POWER FOR 4 HOURS. It was awesome.
I did the same… and was smart to, because Hunter was induced at ten days overdue. Enjoy it, you look terrific!
Sometimes it amazes me how far tiny stomaches can stretch to make room for a baby:)
You do look amazing.
HOLY BELLY!!! I linked here from Kaili’s blog…and I had to comment…WOW…that’s one serious mountain!!!
That is a big belly! And you look absolutely gorgeous! Your little girl will really enjoy these beautiful pictures someday!
I admit, my first thought was, WOW, LOOK AT THAT! But then I thought you look beautiful. Then I thought about lunch.
Hey! You make a great looking pregnant lady! Just thought I’d drop by a say thanks for referencing that DC song…it’s now stuck in my head. LOL!
Don’t fill up that freezr too much. People will probably bring you casseroles and such.
You’ll probably be two weeks late with an 11 pounder. Just joking. I’ll pray the baby comes right on schedule at a healthy happy weight.
well..I haven’t been on here in a while so I read back in your blogs and I am really glad to hear that things are going so well!!!!! I thought that I might open your blog today to find a picture of your baby but I guess a little early for that yet!! but soon..very soon!!! I am excited for you and steve…I don’t know steve that well so I cant really say anything for him but you are goign to be an awesome Mom amanda!!!!!
