Happy Monday! If you need me, I’m here:
I hope you had a good weekend and were able to find some time to rest and recharge. We decorated for Christmas, made our second batch of Christmas Crack(ers) since the first was inhaled in about three hours’ time, and I worked a lot. The kids had a three-day weekend because: OF COURSE they did. (So many Pro-D days that it actually feels unusual for them to have a full week of school.)
Life is feeling weird with the new Covid restrictions in our province. The stores and restaurants seem much quieter than last week and I get the sense that a lot of people are preparing to hunker down. But kids are still in school and some activities. I don’t know. We are taking it one confusing day at a time.
Remember a while back when I sent out an SOS re: skin care? Well! You pulled through! I have actually found something that (*knocks wood*) has been working! I wash my face with a Neutrogena cleansing wipe (am lazy) and then have been putting this lovely face oil on at night. Then I have been wearing a powdered mineral sunscreen during the day. So overall, I am feeling better and like I am taking better care of myself. I am pretty sure my skin would be a lot happier if I actually drank some water, but….
Pretty much the only liquids I consume are coffee or kombucha. And in eight days’ time…maybe the occasional glass of red wine. Looking forward to it!
I’m thankful for hikes with friends and that we live in such a beautiful, temperate part of the country.
I have zero meals planned for this week ahead. My inspiration seems to wax and wane (heavy on the WANE). Are you making anything good this week? This is a quick, easy hack for when all you can muster is ramen noodles. We did it last week and I added some cooked chicken, some chopped sugar snap peas and grated carrots and everyone was happy.
I’m also looking for some holiday baking inspo this year. I am just kind of tired of my usual go-to’s (Cranberry Bliss Bars, Coffee Toffee, gingersnaps), delicious as they are. Anyone have some amazing recipes to share?
Anyhoo. Hope you have a good Monday and a swell week ahead.
