“Assuming your baby is healthy, she will be placed on your chest as soon as she’s delivered and you’ll be encouraged to nurse as soon as possible,” explained my petite, french-accented doctor this morning.
“I see. I haven’t produced any colostrum yet…is that normal? What if there’s nothing there when my baby tries to nurse?” I asked.
Her eyes fell downwards and focused on my chest, “Well, I don’t think you’ll have any problem. Your breasts have grown quite a lot since I first met you nine months ago, so they’re obviously getting ready for the task at hand.”
Seriously.

And if you’re really lucky they’ll get even bigger when your milk comes in. I still am too big to fit into the bras I wore when pregnant. I grew from A to C while pregnant and then to a D while breast feeding. So much fun! I love my cleavage.
Oh, they’ll be HUGE when the milk comes in.
Seriously.
