Parked

I have been blessed with a hard-working man who toils unceasingly to provide for his growing family. Sometimes, however, he works too much and too hard. This weekend he decided to take a break and build a remote control model airplane that had been collecting dust in its box for years in his closet. He spent the better part of his Sunday finely piecing it together then took her out for her maiden voyage. Yesterday, upon arriving home from work, he asked if Avelyn and I would like to go to the park to watch him fly the plane again. A great idea, if e’er I’ve heard one. So we loaded up the car and drove to a grassy field, only to discover it was far too windy to fly the light plane. Instead we took our girl to the park and pushed her on the swing, took her down the slide, fed her baby biscuits on a blanket in the shade, then went for a little stroll down main street. Afternoons like those are rare, so I especially enjoyed it.

  • My man is the same way. I always enjoy when he decides to take a day off and spend it with us. It looks and sounds like you had a great time. :) Great pictures too by the way.

  • I’m so glad to hear you guys got to enjoy a family day! Steve is so hard working and doesn’t give himself enough days off. :)

  • It’s no wonder he and Matthew get along so well (when they stop working long enough to actually get together). Steve is a great guy/hubby/Daddy and I’m glad you guys had a family day.

Also glad for your visit this morning :)

  • Sounds like a good day! It looks as though Avelyn loves the swing!

  • wheeeeee! how fun.

  • That’s so cute! It’s amazing that Steve can fit in that slide. I certainly can’t.
    Keep me posted on Adlele.

  • “fed her baby biscuits” made me laugh, I don’t know why, because we have the same things…but it had a ring of feeding a dog. I hope she did some good tricks first to earn her biscuits.
On a serious note, that was an awesome idea to go to the park. It is amazing when you take the time to do simple family things how incredibly rich and rewarding it feels. It also makes you appreciate your spouse and remember why you married them. So glad you had an awesome Sunday.
