Let’s Make It Smooth

Mornings are my least favourite part of the day. I wake up early, go to boot camp to squat and grunt my way through a sweat-soaked workout, then race home to hop in the shower, throw some toast at the kids while coercing them into their clothes, bribe them to brush their hair, gather up the forty pounds of gear and backpacks and diaper bags and sippy cups, negotiate about shoe choices for 13 minutes in the entry way, holler “GET IN THE VAN!” at the top of my lungs twice, and peel out of the driveway to try to beat the clock. And still, the kids are late for school half the time.

Do you see what’s missing from this equation?

Me, putting food in my body.

It’s bad. A lot of days, I just throw some instant coffee in my travel mug and hit the road. Not cool.

I have been on a slow and gradual path of making healthier choices but this part of the day continues to kick my butt and I need some help. Something quick, healthy, easy and wholesome I can grab and gulp in between hollering at my kids to “GET IN THE VAN ALREADY!”
