(Not So) Quiet Time

Brinley has been giving up her afternoon nap. Slowly but surely, she sleeps less and less with each passing month and it’s kind of sad. I do my best to ensure she still has a quiet time, so that even if she doesn’t actually fall asleep, she gets used to having some peaceful play time after lunch by herself in her crib. After a half-hour of shrieking and toy-throwing and diaper-removing (that one can be dangerous), I go and retrieve her from her crib.

She is always happy to see me.

Then Karenna creeps out from her quiet time as well, abandoning the horses figurines she’s been playing with and comes in to greet her sister.

Brinley is always happy to see her, too.

Then the crazy starts up all over again.

It’s pretty great.

  • Your photos are beautiful. When Liliana stopped napping, we started Quiet Time as well. I can’t remember how it went at first (I’m guessing NOT WELL), but now she still has it and let’s just say it’s good for everyone’s sanity. I’m NOT looking forward to when the boys give up their afternoon nap!

  • Love love love it Amanda!! GREAT moments to cherish! :)

  • I love your girls (and you) so much.

  • We always had a quiet time. Even when we didn’t nap, mom did. So we played quietly together. I have so many sweet memories of waking mom up from her nap with cuddles. (And probably sometimes screeching..)
