I don’t have the words to convey just how blown away I was by a tsunami of love yesterday.
Some dear friends threw me a beautiful garden party to celebrate my 30th birthday. Krista and Amie pulled out all the stops and planned the most gorgeous gathering I’ve ever been to. (Watch out, Martha. They are better than you.) There was a spread of all my most favourite foods (a plethora of cheeses and fresh breads) and all of the decorations were in my favourite colour.
I was surrounded by wonderful friends in a perfect setting and it was beyond fantastic. I felt so honoured and blessed.
Christy even showed up for the occasion. After the garden party we spent the afternoon at the lake.
Then Steve told me were going out for a date nigh to  new restaurant in Penticton. Wahoo! I got all dolled up, hopped in the van and off we went. Just before we got onto the highway he said, “Oh, I should stop at the Wouda’s and pick up the nail gun I lent to Andy, since we’ll be driving by.”
“Yeah, that’s fine,” I said. We pulled up to their front yard and Andy and Amie were there doing yard work. We made small talk, then Amie asked if I wanted to see her back yard, since they had been doing a lot of work and landscaping to it. “Sure,” I said and we walked along the side of the house to the back. When I got to the edge of the yard, I saw dozens of my dearest friends gathered, and they all yelled, “Surprise!”
Two parties in one day?! Who DOES that?
I was 100% surprised and did not see that coming at all! We spent the rest of the night together eating, drinking, laughing, enjoying live music under the twinkle of the stars and the tiki torches. It could not have been better.
I cannot say thank you enough to Steve, to Krista and Amie, to all the friends who played such integral parts in making this surprise so perfect.
I am blown away by the love and will never forget it.
