I know I have sucked at blogging as of late, but here’s a quick snapshot of what’s going on these days:
The kids have been waking up in the night again, with coughs that won’t quit and a few midnight tantrums thrown in for good measure. It makes me feel so groggy and zombie-y and blech, getting up three, four times in the night and it makes me wonder how on earth I did that for five years straight and did not DIE.
Karenna has been extra challenging lately. Lots of attitude and anger and added syllables (ex: “Leave me alone-AHHHH!” and “I know-AHHHHH!” and “I don’t want do that-AHHHH!”). Makes me want to scream-AHHHHHH! But then she goes and randomly puts on a purple shower cap and pink gloves and comes and finds me and strokes my hair and tells me that she loves me and that I’m the best mommy ever and I can, for the moment, forget about her difficult parts. She is such a complex little girl and I want to do right by her. It’s just hard somedays.
I am hosting a Stella & Dot party tomorrow night and am so excited! It’s going to be so fun to get a bunch of ladies together, look at pretty jewelry, sip some wine and eat these:
(eggnog cupcakes, you guys!).
It’s Steve’s birthday today. He’s 29 and I love him.
Tonight we are going to have a slab of ice-cream cake and toast the birthday boy: a most excellent husband and father, a diligent provider, and a true friend.
Work has been going well! Here’s the business card I designed for me and my partner.
Aaaaaand, scene.

Liliana did the EXACT SAME THING for quite a while, probably when she was about Karenna’s age. Drove me MENTAL. The good news? It ended. Eventually. I think there’s something about second children, because Liliana and Karenna have a lot in common!
And the business card looks GREAT!
What is it with our girls? Moira is pushing just about every button I have these days and is making me crazy (again? still?) but is also the sweetest girl at the same time. (And she’s my first – I hope Fionnuala doesn’t start in on it too.)
Happy Birthday Steve!
Love the card and Happy Birthday Steve. Also, Audrey is pretty much sounding like she’s channeling Karenna (or maybe it’s the other way around). Every, single thing out of her mouth is “NO!”. She’ll even lead with it when she wants something “Audrey would you like a smartie?” “NO! And then Yes.” Grr
I love the card!
Thanks for hosting us last night. I had a great time chatting and rocking babies. :)
Happy birthday, Steve!
The biz card looks great!
Look at how hot and professional you are! Love it!
