Domesticity

Keeping It Real, Episode 657.

It’s 7:23 pm, Brinley is howling in her crib for unknown reasons, the two older girls are warring in their bedroom, fighting sleep and each other, and my to-do list has the same thing scrawled on it that’s been there since last week:

I’m tired.

  • Amanda, I enjoy your blog so much. You are so un-smug and un-pretentious and you really do keep it real. It warms me and it makes me smile and wish that I could know you in real life. You are such a lovely mother and I think you’d be a wonderful friend!

  • You hang in there, lady. <3

  • Oh gosh! Thank you for sharing that. If I had a blog, I would post a picture of my laundry room so that you could see that it looks exactly the same way. Where is the laundry fairy?

  • i love doing laundry!

  • If it would make you feel any better I’d have no problem taking a picture of my bathroom with at least 6 loads of laundry waiting to be cleaned. I doubt it would though :) I am off on Thursday so I want to believe I will get to it on Thursday. Here’s hoping. Love your stories.

  • Maybe Norma can come and do your laundry for you. : )

  • I suspect that the laundry fairy we were promised is on strike… or perhaps, she’s hunting down those wayward left socks? My laundry looks like this after the washing. I cannot stand folding it and finding spaces for it in disheveled drawers and closets.

  • I love your appliances. I keep telling myself if I could get nice appliances that I wouldn’t put off laundry like I do. But I am a liar.

  • HA! that’s awesome! i laughed out loud when i saw the piles :) we have ALL been there. thanks for reminding us all that we are not alone. if you think your laundry room looks rough…you should’ve seen my bathrooms earlier in the week. i was seriously considering “the hover” just so i didn’t have to touch anything. lol! i know you are tired (and you seriously should be! you live a crazy busy, but awesome family life.). take a break when you need it. then when you are ready; i read somewhere that if you take only 15 minutes/day and set your mind to just one task (a tidy, or washing dishes, etc), you’d be surprised at what you could accomplish. and i can say i think it works! sending you hugs!! you’re my hero mango!! :)
