This past week I became an aunt for the first time:
Taya was born last Monday and I got to hold her when she was a mere five days new. I have never had a niece before and it was such a beautiful experience to just snuggle that darling girl and know that I’m part of her family. It was also nice not have have to be the one to try and breast-feed her. This auntie gig is going to be great!
And I also drove all by my lonesome to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to write my Real Estate Exam. I passed! Then had explosive diarrhea for a couple days as I was coming off of all the nerves. Good times all around. It was so fun to have a bit of time by myself in the big city, cruising over the Lion’s Gate Bridge, shopping my tail off, and drinking overpriced macchiatos. It’s good to be home, and now I have the entire summer off to pick up the pieces of our crazy lives, get back into the swing of being a decent homemaker, maybe try cooking a meal again. We’ll see.
It feels so good to have done what I set out to. Now I just need a month-long nap and I’ll be ready to go.
