Family Matters, My Girl 3.0

Rest For the Weary

Ahhhh. I am feeling so much better. Yesterday I had two naps and a full body massage. I went out for lunch, had a cupcake at a French bakery, poked around a thrift store, visited with a dear friend, watched too much TV and laughed about old times with my family.

When we were teenagers, Jen and I used to take funny pictures of ourselves with exaggerated double chins. It’s kind of sad that now we don’t have to really try to make those double chins. Aging is neat.

Tonight she’s coming over for a sleep-over. Not even kidding.

Brinley has been a dream. She was a sweet, quiet little nugget on the flights over here and she’s been full of giggles and happy times for Grandma and Bumpa. Avelyn and Karenna are in Vancouver with Steve and his mom (Nana) so they’re keeping busy visiting with their cousins, touring the aquarium, and being belligerent delinquents for someone other than me.

I’ve still got a couple days left here in my hometown and I intend to savour every moment.
