You were born on the last day of summer and here we are, three months later, driving on a snowy road at two a.m. back to the hospital because you’re coughing so hard that you can’t breathe. I try to be quick and safe on the slick roads and pray that you’ll be fine. We make it and the doctor sees you right away, not wanting to take any chances with a little one’s life. They put a little plastic mask over your face and fill it with plumes of misty gas for you to inhale and, once you stop crying, your hazel eyes look up at me and I am so glad you’re here, so glad you’re safe.
(Update: We were sent home after a couple hours of observation, and Brinley seems much better today.)

Oh man, I’m so sorry, but so glad she’s okay now (she’s okay now?). Little babies should just not ever be allowed to get sick.

What a scare! So glad for all of you that she’s doing better.
So thankful she is doing better. It is SO hard when our kids are sick – SO scary when they are so tiny. Praying you all get the peace and rest you need.
