Avelyn had her ballet photos last weekend so we had to do a trial run of the hair, make-up and costumes all the teeny ballerinees will be wearing for their upcoming recital. I had low expectations: I thought she would protest the tight bun, and smear her mascara and freak out about the itchy ruffles around her neck. But she did no such thing.
She was excited. And beautiful.
I can’t get over how much she has grown and matured this year. Sure, we still have our days and the meltdowns do happen from time to time, but overall she has turned into such a lovely, quirky, smart, strong-minded little girl and I am so proud of her (and ME for making it though The Difficult Phase that lasted, oh, TWO and a HALF YEARS).
Work it!

Adorable! Is she almost 4 or almost 14?!
What a doll!!! I love it. Way to go, Mama!
I watched my niece dance in her recital this weekend and all the makeup, buns and tutus made me wish I had a girl even more!! She’s precious!
She’s just gorgeous. Just wait until she’s a little older, you’ll be fighting off the boys with a stick!
Aw, I’m so sad I missed it this weekend! Looking forward to coming to ballet this Saturday, though. :)
Is that Shyla? The girls are GORGEOUS!!!
Avelyn looks like her mama JUST A TAD BIT in that last photo. :)

I was already excited, but now I’m EXCITED for dance class next year. What a little ham she is, and so beautiful!
