I feel like this is an ad for TrimSpa (baby!) or something. But I just wanted to give myself a little reminder of how far I’ve come in shedding my pregnancy poundage.
This photo was taken this morning. It brought back the memories to set my camera on the top of the barbeque, hit the timer, and strike a pose on the deck like I did every week while growing a baby in my belly. I am still pretty soft around my center, but that’s OK. Maybe if I were to actually consider exercise I would be able to shed my remaining seven pounds. I kind of hesistated to post this most recent photo because thoughts like “my thighs look like (very mushy) tree trunks” and “look at the rolls under my bra” and “holy cow, my boobs are like footballs” were echoing in my mind. But then I realized that I should be proud of the crazy changes my body has undergone and not feel like an inadequate woman because I can’t squeeze into a size two. I would still like to lose (a lot) more weight and tone up my (entire) body. But I want to be realistic, and non-obssessive about it.
Meaning, the cookie I just ate, it’s OK with me and I’m OK with it.
Can I just also take this opportunity to say that I loathe my haircut? I knew I would regret it. I told everyone, “I know it’s a bad idea to get a drastic cut when you’re a new mom. But I’m doing it anyways.” It’s just too blunt and thick and shapeless. Owell, it will grow and I’ll get it jazzed up with some kicky layers in the new year. I am also thinking about bidding farewell to the blonde and letting my natural colour (a very dark blonde….I suffer from “can’t admit the blonde of my childhood is gone and I am indeed a brunette” syndrome) grow out.
I am sure I’ll regret that decision as much as I do my haircut.
Sometimes a terrible change is better than being trapped in a rut though, you know?

Amanda you look fantastic! Then again you always look great, pregnant or not. I believe drastic hair cuts are what we girls do to add some much “needed” drama to our lives. And we all know as pregnant or new moms our lives are seriously lacking the drama. (I’m kidding of course). All things aside your hair is lovely and it’s still there. My mom wanted the “look change” when I was born and went from having long straight bra length hair to burnt, curly pixie hair. It was so bad she broke a brush in it, no joke. Now that’s hair to loathe.
You look stunning, as always.
You look great Amanda and I am truly a fan of your new haircut. :)
You look fabulous!!I can hardly wait until you guys get here.Love you!
You look great!
You look wonderful! Congrats on all your hard work.
As for the hair – the beauty of hair is that it always grows back, and there’s always a hairdresser than can change the color back for you. I say go for it!
You look gorgeous!! I’m sure the remaining 7 lbs are in your boobs, which look nice the size they are! Good work. And I like your hair! See you in 2.5 weeks! Will you be dropping off more lasagne??
One word (well phrase) for you Amanda:
va va voom
Curves are NOT a bad thing. You look bloody fabulous and very womanly…
Ditto to everyone above…but you KNOW I love you!
Look at you hot Mama!!
I also LIKE your hair cut.
How did the shots go? We could walk another day? Wanna?
Amanda! You look wonderful! I think you looked wonderful then, just different. You look hot now, dude, and not at all tree trunky or thick or anything other than hot, dude, seriously.
delurking to tell you that you look great!
Wowzers. If only I can look half as great as you do in February I will consider myself a true success. You look amazing and new haircuts, (and new boobs), only take time to get used to!
Amanda, you look great! But if you are concerned about the hair, go get a bit of an update. Try some layering to take the heaviness out of the bottom few inches.
But really, you look fantastic!
Wow! I’m jealous, you look SO good. Congrats…what’s your secret?
You look FANTASTIC! It must be the cookies :-)

But I’ll tell you again. You look so great. Why else would strangers be buying your hot chocolate for you?
Wow. Look at you and that body! You look totally fab in both pictures, but I know how it feels to shed those pregnancy pounds.
Tell me something, did your hips remain an inch or two larger? Mine never did shrink back down, but I’m totally fine with that because curves baby! Gotta love the womanly curves!
You look great! Thought you and some of your other readers might find this website interesting:

That is incredible seeing those two pictures side by side. You look pretty incredible.
I think you look great. I got a little surprise in the mail a few days ago and it reminded me of the maxi-pad express post days:)
you look great and I know exactly how you feel, slightly softer in places, with way larger boobs, but I feel more comfortable in my body than I have in years and years.
