Jen and Abby arrived yesterday! It’s so great to have them here and I have secret plans to keep her locked in the basement for months to come so she can never leave. Don’t worry. I plan to slide three pancakes under the door each day. She’ll be fine, really.
Abby has changed so much! Gone are the chubby cheeks and thighs of toddlerhood. Now she’s got cheekbones and expressive green eyes and the vocabulary of an eighth grader.
Avelyn bawled the whole way home from the Kelowna airport. At first Abby tried to console her with an adorable rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. After that proved unsuccessful at calming my freaker-outer, Abby herself let out a few exasperated screams then fell asleep.
I have to run. Avelyn is stirring and I think she’s awoken from her FOUR MINUTE AFTERNOON NAP.

Ah, so Avelyn has a staunch anti-nap policy as well? I may have the perfect guy for her. He’s a little chubby, and it’d be a long-distance relationship, but they apparently have similar views :)
