So many of my dear friends have had babies in the past month. When I have gone to visit them in the hopsital, Avelyn in tow, I am amazed at how huge my girl looks compared to the day-old babes. She has grown so much and has more than doubled her birth weight in nearly four months. She used to be such a tiny peanut who barely made a dent in her carseat. Her legs were so thin and covered in loose, wrinkled skin. The soother she sucked on was as big as her head.
Remember?
Now she’s chubby, round, full of precious chortles, and she’s sporting a pretty fierce bald patch on the back of her head.
The time is passing at such a rapid rate.
Hanging on the wall in Avelyn’s nursery are three frames that together read: Cherish Every Moment (yes, it’s cheesy; deal with it). And that is what I am trying to do.
When she’s howling for no good reason I find myself wishing I could press the mute button or hit fast forward, but when I tickle her buddha belly in the tub, hear her give off resounding belly laughs, and rock her to sleep each night I want to freeze time and forget that she’s getting bigger by the minute and leaving babyhood a little more each day.
*Do you see Rolo’s plaid doggy sofabed in the photo?

She is suche a cutie! I had totally forgotten that in only four short months they can do things like hold their own heads up, the time does go so quickly! I think things like Cherish Every Moment stop being cheesy the second you become a mom! So live it up!!
She just gets cuter and cuter! We need to book a play date :)
I agree – they grow soooooo fast!! We really do need to cherish each and every moment (even if they are screaming in our ears).
Avelyn is SO PRECIOUS!!
Beautiful post :)
Look at those loooooong legs!!
What a beautiful baby girl! Spittin’ image of both her momma and daddy.
“Cherish Every Moment”
I think that is one of lifes most important lessons.

Before you know it she’ll be bringing boys home. And asking for more money to buy those $100 pair of jeans. Which by that time will be cheap.
And yes, i did notice the sofa bed.
