Here are some highlights from the past few weeks. Avelyn’s snowsuit is a tad too big. The tips of her toes barely reach the top of the leg holes. I bought it last year before she was born and I guess I was anticipating a huge baby, based on the massive size of my belly, but she’s still got a ways to go before she fills out this suit. Owell, it made me laugh this morning to see her little pin head poking out the top of this large, fuzzy snowsuit. Avelyn laughed too.
Although Hallowe’en is long gone I thought you might want to see a close up shot of the cutest lobster in the whole wide world:
And here is Avelyn sporting the preppy chocolate brown sweater that her Uncle Steve purchased in France last year. I love babies in preppy clothes and she will be wearing collared shirts, cable knit sweaters and loafers until she’s old enough to protest.
Steve gets home tomorrow. He has been at a conference in California for the past week and I have been living like a bachelor in his absence. The novelty of living off of skittles and goldfish crackers and poutine has officially worn off and I am ready to cook an actual meal again. Steve will have been gone for a total of eight days and this is the longest we’ve ever been apart. It has given me a tiny taste of single parenthood and me no likie! I don’t know how all the single moms (and dads) out there cope with the emotional strain of being the primary caregiver day in, day out. Also, I hate having to keep the fire going and am looking forward to having my lumberjack/fire-stoker home again.
Before Steve left I negotiated a future mini holiday for myself so that he can spend a weekend alone with Avelyn. I’m thinking Vegas in the spring. Anyone care to join me?

Count me in!
I can’t think of much at the moment, for I am blinded by the adorableness that is that kid in a snowsuit.
All three pictures are SO cute. The brown sweater one is my fave. I can’t wait to see her.
See you in Vegas!
Jen always calls me to come see the cute pics of Avelyn. We sit here oohing and awing.
That above comment was me.
She is so beautiful. Love the snowsuit.
Vegas would be awesome!
Yes, let’s go to Vegas. The only problem is, I want to see Avelyn too. Which kind of defeats the purpose of getting away, doesn’t it? Hrm.
Love the brown sweater. Avelyn is growing so fast. She will be the best dressed baby.
She will get along wonderfully with Ben in his sweater vests. They would make such a cute little couple! :)
She’s so pretty. And yes, two parents is sooo much easier than one. Glad to have my other half.
I love love loved Vegas! So much eye candy, so much vibrancy, so little sleep and so much food.
I can’t imagine being a parent, nevermind a single parent. I can hardly even look after myself:)
Have fun in Vegas.
