I just got back from my 32 week doctor’s appointment and all looks just fine and dandy with the babe. My blood pressure is good, my urine is normal, the baby is in a head-down position, the heartbeat is strong, and I gained a moderate amount of weight. Really, this pregnancy has been such a blessing and I am so thankful for the lack of: morning sickness, gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. My little dots of stretch marks haven’t really extended too far yet but they are getting darker. Owell, a minor glitch, and really, my body is never going to be the same in any respect so what are a few stretch marks really going to matter? After breastfeeding my boobs will look like tired crepes, my stomach will sag loosely over the front of my pants, and all of this new cellulite may never fully disappear. But who cares?! I am going to be joining the society of motherhood! Where every mom’s boobs are droopy and all the paunches are mushy. I will fit in beautifully.
Last night at our prental class the husbands learned some masage techniques and I am trying to convince Steve that he needs to be practicing daily just to make sure he’s got it down. He’s not buying it. But he did agree to make a stop at 7-11 on our way out of Penticton so I could get a slurpee. Good boy.
I have been desiring cold, cold things lately. I have been freezing my yogurt, chomping on ice cubes, devouring frozen cherries and downing the slushees. It’s just been so hot outside that I need all the cooling relief I can get. Whenever I ingest something chilly, the baby starts grooving, so that’s fun. She likes slurpees too, I guess.
She and I are going to get along famously.

Glad that all is well Amanda!
“Tired crepes.” You crack me up.
I had a checkup there this morning too! (9:30) – must have just missed you!
It’s all about the cold stuff when it’s this hot…mmmm…slurpee…
we are soooo cut from the same cloth (except for my potty mouth)…i’ve been trying to convince D that he needs to practice his massage skills daily as well.
he’s not buying it either.
I remember learning the massage skills, and I was totally the opposite! I just felt so crowded having hands all over me, hope it helps ease the labor aches and pains for you!
I went through the whole heat of the summer when I was prego with Tiffany. It was so hot and uncomfortable. She was born in Sept. So I know how you must be feeling when it’s so hot. Keep ingesting those frozen treats and try to stay cool. It is all worth it.
