Pour Some Sugar On Me

I had this terrible, torturous idea to bake cookies with Avelyn.  She was not impressed.

Yes, we have matching aprons.  I bought them on etsy and am in love with them.  I even got one made for Jolie.

Once we got rolling, Avelyn was happy to dip her fingers in the batter and toss in fistfulls of flour when my back was turned.

We were making the dough for sugar cookies, which are one of my holiday staples.

Butter (lots of this), brown sugar (even more of that) and flour.  You can’t mess it up.

They are in the oven right now and we’ll ice them this afternoon.

See, kiddo, that wasn’t so bad now, was it?

(Gotta love self-timers.)

  • Haha love those photos Amanda! I bake with Bethany she loves the “Noisy Machine”. Her favorite trick is trying to dump the entire jar of Cinnamon in the bowl. It’s torturous and frustrating and probably one of my favorite things to do with her.

  • Ohh, matching aprons!! What a great idea, I’m totally going Etsy shopping right now..

  • love the aprons!

  • love the aprons…all three of you guys are so cute in them!

  • I thought maybe Steve took them when he was home for lunch. Way to work the self-timer :)

  • I totally thought Steve must have taken them, too!

By the way, I am totally on to you….. I know you left those cookies at my house so I would gorge myself on them this afternoon and turn into your fat friend. Nicely done. I think I’ll deliver brownies to your house tomorrow morning.

  • Love, love, love the aprons! Don’t think my hubby would go for me buying matching aprons for me and my son though!

  • Freaking adorable! I can’t wait to bake and wear matching aprons with my little one.

  • I saw this set of photos on Facebook and had yet to comment on them. I love all of them!!! I especially love the tongue photo and the self timer one – man, do you guys ever look alike in it! Looks like it wasn’t too bad by the end :)

  • I LOVE NEW SHOTS OF MY NIECES! The matching aprons are adorable! I am lothing being too far away . . . well I am thrilled that I get to see you guys next weekend. Yee-haw! I await your arrival. :) kb

    And the babies.

  • I love the matching aprons! Too cute!

  • Those aprons are so adorable! I’m an apron gal myself, so I hope that I’ll have matching aprons with my (future) kids as well:)

Now let’s talk about YOU. You’re on a weight loss journey, and I’ve been really impressed with your discipline and progress. But you know what? Not ONCE have I EVER seen a picture of you and thought, “ooo, she could stand to drop a few.” In fact, I’ve often thought that you are extremely beautiful with a HOT BOD. And you know what else impresses me? That you have a house and a family to keep organized, and you still look AMAZING. ALL THE TIME. Your hair is great, your face is perfect, and your outfits always look fantastic! I don’t even have kids yet, and I avoid showering/dressing up on a REGULAR BASIS. Kudos to you!

  • OMG – so cute! And your fortitude to do this with a 2 year old, let alone and infant about is amazing. Just thinking of doing cookies with my M, although heart-warming, is enough to send me into hysterics. Only when Daddy is around to rescue me.

  • I LOVE the aprons!

  • I’m so glad you found aprons that you liked on Etsy. Thay re adorable, as are you and the kids, of course.

  • The aprons are awesome! And I love the wicked smile on your face and the wicked crankiness on hers (in the first photo).

  • I love the matching aprons, you guys are all so cute!

I am now heading downstairs to make cookies, while Charlie sleeps. I don’t have the energy to cook with a toddler today.
