A good laugh is just what I needed.
And we had a lot of them this weekend.
 We shopped. A lot.
Our nights were pretty wild.
Scrabble until the wee hours of the morn. (Just for the record, I kicked everyone’s butts.)
Followed by some jumping on the bed!
 We ate really well. Maybe a little too well.
I learned it is possible to o.d. on carbs.; it was a beautifully sinful discovery. We hit the Olive Garden (my first time!) and Red Robin and Starbucks and a few nasty mall food courts. Today I was actually craving green salad and blueberries and my tummy lurched at the thought of the things I ate this weekend. Ranch-soaked meat lover’s pizza is a cruel lover. Indulge, but be prepared to pay the price.
I am thoroughly enjoying my purchases, which include: a wool jacket from the Gap, black ballet flats from Bass, a dress and shoes for Avelyn, a pair of Mavi jeans from Ross (the most ghetto Ross I could ever have imagined!), some khakis for Steve, and a few cheap shirts. I kind of went for quality vs. quantity. I didn’t want to blow all my money on random clothing that I only sort of liked, so I waited for things on the rack to whisper my name and say, “You know you love me. Please take me in your arms.” And really, it didn’t happen as often as I hoped it would. True love is hard to find, I guess.
As fun as the trip was I was more than ready to head back north and hug my li’l family.

Are there now GAP stores in Canada? There weren’t when I lived there (sigh–now 16 years ago) and I find myself yearning for shops like Roots, Club Monaco, Jacob, and boxes of Smarties.

SUCH great pictures. Especially the first one. With Christy as a friend, you may have to invest in a framing company. You have so many must-frame pictures. Or one of those digital frames!
Quality over quantity. I agree. I’m learning that, one $15 eyeshadow at a time.

Oh my, looks like the best time. I love girl getaways and you guys did it up right, shopping and carbs YESSSSS!!! The jacket is AWESOME, may we see a full body shot, oh yes, we need to see it with those little flats.
